About the Artist
Born in 1969, Aimée grew up in Farmington Hills, MI, the youngest of three children, where she developed a keen interest in the natural world. Her interest in art began in kindergarten, when she declared that she wanted to become an artist someday. In college she studied fine art, graphic design and journalism, graduating with a B.A. in Graphic design in 1992, from Grace College in Winona Lake, IN. She soon married her college sweetheart and went to work for Western Publishing/Golden Books as a New Product Samples Specialist, creating pre-production playable game and book samples for catalog photo shoots and sales demos. Over the following years she also worked in floral design/sales; as a nanny; gardener; secretary; accts. payable; accts. receivable; admin. assistant; and finally - independent artist - many jobs just to pay the bills while supporting Tim's dreams of being a professional musician, then Cobra pilot. Now, after 19 years of marriage, living in MI, IN, WI, VA, FL, AZ and CA... and 11 years with the U.S. Marine Corps (Tim was an AH-1W Super Cobra pilot), she is finally settled in Amarillo, TX and dusting off a few of her creative dreams with her art & jewelry business: Musée d' Aimée.

Currently, Aimée & Tim live on 2+ acres in the W. Texas canyon lands, with two kids, two doggies, and a beta fish named, Lil' Blue. Aimée is an independent artist working out of her home studio, and Tim is the lead H-1 test pilot at Bell Helicopter -Textron in Amarillo. Aimee's painting style has been influenced by a wide range of different cultures and regions, from coast to coast, and can be summed up as eclectic, since her style varies depending on the medium and subject. She is locally known for using Dixie plates as her pallets, and usually creates a sense of rhythm to the final layer of her paintings by adding finely detailed textures to her vivid landscapes, florals & wildlife.
✶ A word from Aimée: Never give up on your dreams! If you are an artist, I suggest two great books to help you move toward your creative dreams... Make Your Creative Dreams Real by Sark; and The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron.
If you would like, please leave a note for Aimée on one of her Face Book pages: Aimee Rehbine Mouw; and Aimee L. Mouw. ✶
